Actually Seein' Dublin

*disclaimer* this whole blog post should be read in your head in the best attempt of your Irish accent

Arriving in Dublin super late at night and the first thing we do once taking a bus to O'Connell Street, which is a main street in Dublin, and where our hostel is located, is go to Papa Johns. It was late, we were starving, it was American food... not my proudest moment but also don't regret it at all..

The next day, we set off for an adventure. We decided to walk around basically everywhere we could. We started off going towards Temple

Bar, which is actually a whole area, not just the famous red bar that you see on pictures. We walked down a lot of streets seeing cute bars and shops. We made our way through a castle and church that were connected, which felt slightly out of place in the middle of the city, but somehow simultaneously very Irish. We then made our way to the.... GUINNESS FACTORY!! This was our main goal of the first day as we heard it was a must. And it was truly fascinating. Not only was it cool to see how much time and effort went into making this world famous beer, but the actual factory is seven stories tall, each having some different concept on it. At the top you get a (free doesnt really sound right considering I paid 20 euro to get in) beer and a great view of Dublin.

That night we met up with two of our Irish friends, who showed us good bars to go, but the weirdest thing happened in Dublin. A lot of bars enforced a 21 and over rule for entry to avoid a young crowd, even though the legal drinking age is 18. #Rude But, we found some nice people willing to serve us young 20 year olds. As the night progressed more and more places we went, and each was so different. It was crazy the amount of bars that we went to and then there was a downstairs that opened up to another bar or a DJ or a dance floor. Dublin had many hidden fun places that anyone any age could enjoy.

The next day, we were going to head to Cliffs of Moher but it was raining, and that was a 3 hour trip. We decided instead to head to a lake nearby and see some of the scenic countryside parts of Ireland. On the way through the countryside we saw a lot of greenery, and a lot of sheep- which I was overly excited about.. We also went to an authentic Irish Pub, being super cozy with fireplaces inside, it was picture perfect.

That night we headed to Brazen Head, which is the oldest pub in the world, it opened in like 1150! It was very interesting in there, and on the way there I got serenaded by some drunk Irish boys, which was quite interesting... All in all Ireland was a very fun experience, I felt like I could have stayed in Dublin for ages and saw something new every day. I would definitely love to go back and see more!!

I cannot believe this trip is almost coming to an end, I have gone more places than I ever could imagine. Approximately two weeks left in Milan, excitement to see the people from home, but sadness that I am leaving this beautiful adventure behind is definitely setting in.

But, I'm not done yet!!

~See you next week~
