The past two weekends have been spent at ~home~ aka Milan. We have a lot of trips planned ahead of us, so staying back these two weekends was #ideal. The first weekend we went out in Milan for the first time which was quite interesting- we found events going on through Facebook and got on the lists into some very interesting places. But, going to clubs was NOT cheap!! Your cover charge did get you a free drink or two, but it still felt odd putting down 20 euro to get into these places..
We explored more of Milan and the Navigli district- which is POPPIN on Sundays! Some of the only places open on Sunday in Milan- most people were here enjoying aperitif or lunch or the beautiful weather- mid October and it is still 70 degrees! Of course we had to join the aperitivo portion- because these places had full BUFFETS with a drink for 11 euro- bring on the plates. We also watched a beautiful sunset along the canal AND i haggled buying a new pair of sunnies!
That next week consisted of classes, per usual, but we took a field trip- which are common in college courses here- to a TV studio! We watched a live TV show being filmed and were a part of the audience! Although we had actually 0 clue of what the woman was saying or what was happening in general, it was a lot of fun trying to figure it all out.. ALSO I almost had to sing in front of the audience, and we are lucky that it was almost because I would have sang Superbass by Nicki Minaj and that would have just been ~slightly~ inappropriate. So this field trip, along with being interesting in the audience, was also filled with me giving terrified glances to Maddy as I stood in front of the audience with a microphone.

The following weekend came and we did a lot of activities because we had some visitors- Maddy's parents! We all went around Milan, but the best thing we did that day was go atop the Duomo! It was 9 euro to get up there, taking many stairs. The day was slightly cloudy and foggy, but this view was still incredible. Seeing the Duomo, the 5th largest cathedral in the world, up close and personal, and being on the roof- truly incredible. (please look at my pictures!)
The next day we traveled to Como by train to see Lake Como. This was also our first time in Milan Central Station- beautiful train station. We had some trouble going around the station, trying to find the gate- but we did find our train AND it was a very nice experience. Como was cloudy and foggy as well, BUT if I have time to go back, I definitely will. I LOVED it. We took the ferry to the town of Bellagio, as there are many towns on Lake Como, and Bellagio was suggested by Pinterest. It did not disappoint. We walked to so many cute boutiques where a lot of homemade goods were located, and we went through winding streets that peaked out into the mountains- again look at the pictures!! Clouds let up, and I could see very clearly now that the clouds were gone- why George Clooney has a house there. This was the epitome of an Italian town, and I can definitively say my second favorite travel spot behind Venice- I will be back.
Next week we have midterms- but then fall break were we plan to go to three different countries!! Wish us luck and,
